This past Saturday, April 13, 2024, 7th grade RHMS student, Joaquin Gonzales, competed at the National Civics Bee competition held in Brownsville, Texas. At least 100 local middle school students participated in a first-round essay competition. Judges selected 20 students to advance to the local live competition: a live quiz event testing civics knowledge. Joaquin was one of the 20 finalists. Kudos to Joaquin for representing RHMS well! Kudos to Mr. Juan Castillo, 7th Grade Social Studies teacher, for sparking the interest for this event among our students.
